Project Overview

My project was designed to allow myself and others to play a small part in helping to save lives by participating in a blood drive. I was in charge of planning and organizing the blood drive including coordinating with the American Red Cross to follow their standards and procedures. The blood drive was held on campus where students and community members were invited to provide service to others by donating blood. Before the actual blood drive I got in contact with a representative of the American Red Cross to find out the details of holding a blood drive. I also promoted the blood drive beforehand by distributing flyers and hanging up posters.  I had a sign up sheet for donors. I also asked some of my classmates to help recruit donors and work at the blood drive the day of. I was also at the actual blood drive all day to make sure that everything ran smoothly.
